Foreign Languages and Literatures
Assistant Professor of Foreign Languages and Literatures and Associate Director of the Chinese Flagship Partner Program Hsiu-huei Lin Domizio was on the Overseas and Domestic Summer Intensive Programs for Advancing Chinese panel hosted by the National Security Education Program on Nov. 19 in Boston.

Education
Assistant Professor of Secondary Education Jamal Cooks and Assistant Professor of Secondary Education and Mathematics Judith Kysh were named two of the "Top 20 Most Influential Education Professors" by the Online Masters in Education, a nonprofit organization that promotes master's degrees for teachers. Cooks was honored for training soon-to-be high school teachers to use hip hop and sports in the classroom. Kysh was honored for her focus on the teaching and learning of mathematics from kindergarten through college.

Information Systems
Associate Professor of Information Systems Leigh Jin was awarded the Technology Challenge Award from the Technology Committee of the Association of Information Systems (AIS). The award is given to the most significant contribution to the development of AIS technology in the preceding year.

Labor Studies
Professor and Chair of Labor Studies John Logan presented a paper, "Obama and the Unions: Why Has Labor Law Reform Failed Again?," at the Labor Law and Collective Bargaining in International Perspective conference held at the University of Melbourne, Nov. 24 - 25. He also presented papers at the Business Schools at the University of Auckland and University of Waikato in New Zealand.

Library
Periodicals Acquisitions Coordinator Bruce F. Mueller has published the book, Critical Companion to J. D. Salinger: A Literary Reference to His Life and Work. The comprehensive reference volume has just been issued by Facts on File (New York) in a hardcover edition, and is forthcoming as an eBook in the spring.

Management
Assistant Professor of Management Antoaneta Petkova was designated an Ascendant Scholar by the Western Academy of Management, which is awarded on the basis of research, teaching, professional service and ongoing work.

Social Work
Assistant Professor of Social Work Rashmi Gupta was awarded the Association of Gerontological Education in Social Work's Faculty Achievement Award for her contributions toward improving elder-care.
