Education
Professor of Special Education Stanley Goldberg's essay, "Accepting Death," was one of six chosen to be read in the Bay Area during the U.S. tour of National Public Radio's widely acclaimed series "This I Believe." Goldberg read his essay at Booksmith in the Haight on Nov. 26.

Cinema
Jenny Kwok Wah Lau, associate professor of cinema, and Weimin Zhang, assistant professor of cinema, have been selected to work on the official 2008 Summer Olympics documentary. Zhang will be a unit director and cinematographer for the film; Lau will be the script adviser. Lau also authored an article published in the October edition of the film journal Jump Cut on the Chinese international blockbuster film "Hero."

Theatre Arts
The Aurora Theatre Company's production of Mae West’s "Sex" features set design by Greg Dunham, stage technician and supervisor of SF State's scene shop. "Sex" runs through Dec. 23.

Music and Dance
Ademir de Jesus (Paco Gomes), lecturer in the School of Music and Dance, performed in "Side by Side" on Nov. 2 and 3 at the Julia Morgan Center in Berkeley.

Design and Industry
Nancy Noble, lecturer in design and industry, presented the paper "Design Education with a Global Perspective" at the International Academic Conference on Basic Form and Visual Design held in January at Chien Kuo Technical University in Taiwan.
