Summer session offers more than 650 classes
March 16, 2011 -- Students can choose from more than 650 classes offered during the University's summer session. With classes as wide-ranging as biology and accounting as well as dozens of General Education courses, summer session is an opportunity for current students to get ahead with their studies. It is also open to prospective students and members of the public who wish to earn academic credit during the summer.
"We are offering as many courses as we can so that students have the chance to finish up their studies on time or take courses that they might not have been able to get into during the rest of the academic year," said Jim Bryan, director of the College of Extended Learning.
Students must register and pay for summer session classes through SF State's College of Extended Learning. Classes will be available in four sessions: June 6 to July 8, June 20 to August 12, July 11 to August 12 and June 6 to August 12. The cost of six units of summer classes is similar to the cost of six units during the spring or fall 2011. Financial aid is available but is limited, for more information visit www.sfsu.edu/~finaid/newsummer.html
Students currently enrolled at SF State are given priority registration for classes. Eligible students will receive an e-mail March 21 notifying them about the time of their priority registration period, which will be during the week beginning April 11. Class registration for other applicants begins April 18.
