Application deadline extended for Spring 2011

Sept. 1, 2010 -- The University has extended the application deadline for the spring 2011 semester to Sept. 27. Enrollment for new students for spring 2011 remains contingent upon the restoration of state funding to the California State University system.

Undergraduate admission applications received by SF State will be processed, but no acceptances will be issued until after Sept. 27 and after a decision is made by the Chancellor's Office about whether these applications can be reviewed for admission based on the final state budget. If the applications cannot be accommodated, prospective students will have the option to request that their application be rolled over to the fall 2011 application process or to request a refund of their application fee.

The Division of Graduate Studies and appropriate academic departments will process graduate applications as they are received, and no acceptances will be made until after Sept. 27.

In addition, the following conditions apply to SF State:

  • The application period for freshmen and upper-division transfer students is Sept. 27.
  • Graduate applications will be accepted until Nov. 1, unless specific departments require earlier deadlines.
  • No undergraduate applications will be accepted for cinema, dietetics, environmental studies, health education, industrial arts, industrial design, kinesiology, visual communication design, journalism, nursing, social work, apparel design and merchandising, interior design and psychology.
