December 3, 2008 - - Library Annex I, the temporary home for many library services at SF State, is now open. During the three-year renovation, expansion and seismic strengthening of the J. Paul Leonard Library, Annex I will provide temporary library facilities for SF State students, faculty and staff. The football field-sized building houses an open area, with more than 150 computers, multi-media editing stations and study space for 350 students. Periodicals, reference collections and research assistance are available at the Annex.

The Library’s book, journal and media collections continue to be available. SF State and other affiliated users can request books and other materials using the online catalog. They will be retrieved and delivered to rooms 101 and 107 of the HSS building for pickup, and checkout in HSS 102. Library Media Services and laptop checkout for students are available in HSS 127.

Library Annex I is located on North State Drive, near the corner of Winston Drive and Lake Merced Boulevard. It is northwest of the main parking garage. In addition to reaching the Annex by foot, the building can be accessed by bicycle, car, public transportation or the new campus-loop shuttle. More information, including directions, can be found on the Library Building Project Web site at: http://www.sfsu.edu/newlibrary/
