President Corrigan, SF State honored by Peace Corps

October 28, 2008 -- San Francisco State University President Robert A. Corrigan accepted an award from Peace Corps Deputy Director Jody Olsen on Oct. 23. The award recognized SF State's long-time commitment to the Peace Corps. Since John F. Kennedy established the service in 1961, 1,232 alumni from SF State have served as volunteers, ranking the University 16th in the nation for producing Peace Corps volunteers. Currently, 26 SF State alumni serve as volunteers in 16 posts.
