Poet Ed Roberson reads "Ask for 'How High the Moon'," "Properties," and "The Motorcycle Crossing" from his 1995 book of poems, Voices Cast Out to Talk Us In. He then reads "Atmosphere Conditions," "Ideas of People the Builders Had," "Squall," "Down Break Drum," "I Don't See," "Through Which You Cross Over," and "Cornerstone" from his recent collection, Atmosphere Conditions, selected by the evening's co-reader, poet Nathaniel Mackey, as the winner of The National Poetry Series for 1998. Steve Dickison introduces Mackey and Roberson.
