Writer, filmmaker, and editor of Semiotext(e)'s Native Agents book series Chris Kraus visits The Poetry Center from her home in Los Angeles. She reads excerpts from her novel Aliens & Anorexia and her novel-in-progress Anthropology of Unhappiness, which together with her novel I Love Dick comprise a trilogy inspired in part by Simone Weil's collection of essays La Pesanteur et La Grace, published in English as Gravity and Grace, and her own experiences as an independent filmmaker. Steve Dickison introduces Kraus and the evening's co-reader, Mike Amnasan.
