In a return to the Bay Area from his home in the UK, preeminent poet and artist Tom Raworth teams up with a founding member of San Francisco's Rova Saxophone Quartet, Bruce Ackley, in an adventurous duo 'words and music' performance. Ackley responds in turn to Raworth's rapid staccato articulations of the poems "Warm Water Problem," "List," "Two Six to Twenty-six," Two Small Pieces," "Suffering from Painful Trapped Moon," and "Translation" with his own discrete jazz compositions for soprano saxophone "Luminous Body," "The Twins," "26," "#1," and "Compass." Steve Dickison introduces Raworth and Ackley. |
