SAN FRANCISCO--Students, faculty and staff at San Francisco State University are collecting food, medical supplies and other relief items for the survivors of Hurricane Mitch in Honduras and Nicaragua.
Donations can be sent to the La Raza Student Organization office in room C-131B in the Cesar Chavez Student Center at S.F. State, 1600 Holloway Ave., or phone (415) 338-1937.
The SFSU Central American Hurricane Relief Task Force seeks the following food products: corn, corn flour, beans, rice, potatoes, oatmeal, powder, evaporated and condensed milk, vegetable and cooking oil, bottled water, pasta and sugar.
Other relief items also needed include first aid kits, sleeping bags, blankets, robes, towels, plates, forks, knives, soap and detergent.
