Disability Programs and Resource Center (DPRC)

Educational Opportunity Program

Description: The Educational Opportunity Program improves access and retention of historically under-served students by facilitating their matriculation into SF State. EOP students receive outreach, admission, academic and financial support, and receive on-going advising, tutoring and workshops to ensure completion of degree requirements.
EOP/Student Support Services - TRIO

Description: Student Support Services (SSS) offers mandatory academic advising, tutoring and workshops for 160 federally low-income EOP participants. Stop by to meet SSS staff.
J. Paul Leonard Library Welcome Days Open House
Location: J. Paul Leonard Library
Description: Welcome to the new J. Paul Leonard Library. Self-guided tour begins in Library Events Room 121 and open computer access available in Library Research Commons 124.
Journalism Department Student Orientation

Lavender Lounge

Description: An outdoor information and gathering space (tent) for LGBTQQI students, faculty, staff and administrators. Learn about on and off campus resources for the LGBTQQI community as well as network with current staff and students.

Relationship Studies & Skills: Counseling Concepts for Psychological Growth
Location: BH 312
Description: This program describes a new course from the Department of Counseling designed to assist students in their transition to adulthood. Course covers recent findings from personality, counseling and communication studies on the establishment, maintenance and improvement of many kinds of human relationships.
School of Nursing

Description: The School of Nursing faculty and staff will briefly discuss the profession of nursing, pathways into the field and provide a glimpse into the nursing undergraduate program and the admission process for this upper division program.
So You'd Like to be a Teacher?

Description: Acquiring a teaching credential at the elementary and secondary levels or in special education takes preparation to ensure that you will have all requirements completed by the application date. At this presentation you will learn where to go for information and how to create a timeline for the process. Anyone interested in a California teaching credential should come and listen.
