SF State welcomes the family and guests of our incoming students. You are invited to all of the Welcome Days events and activities on Thursday, August 22 (for family and guests with students living in campus housing) and Friday, August 23 (for family and guests of all incoming students). In addition, there are a few programs that are specifically designed just for family and guests that are highlighted below.
Join the Parents and Family Program
Learn more about the University’s vibrant campus community and the ways you can become more involved. The Parents and Family Program provides access to e-newsletters, events, forums and activities. Through the program, parents and family members are provided news about student, faculty and alumni achievements, University programs and links to campus resources.

Thursday, August 22nd
Residential Life Parent Panel
3 p.m. – 4 p.m. | Jack Adams Hall, Cesar Chavez Student Center
Residential Life and University Property Management staff will provide parents with important information regarding their student's residential experience. There will be a Questions and Answers session following the panel discussion.
Friday, August 23rd
Home Away From Home (Parents)
11 a.m. – noon | Knuth Theater, Creative Arts Building
Administrators and staff speak with parents and family members about safety, wellness, and student success at SF State. There will be a Questions and Answer session following the panel discussion.
Parents and Family Program Dinner
5 p.m. – 7 p.m. | Jack Adams Hall, Cesar Chavez Student Center
Parents and family members of incoming students are invited to socialize, share common experiences and learn about the Parents and Family Program.
