How have increased tuition fees impacted you and your family?:
In order to help me pay for my first two years at SFSU my mom had to take money out of her retirement funds, rent out a bedroom in our house, and look for side work teaching flute on top of her current job. I've had to get a job while in school in order to save up for my junior and senior years, and I will still have to take out student loans when that time comes. My mom is now considering renting out our entire house, because college is so unbelievably expensive.
What are you studying at SF State and what do you hope to do once you graduate?:
I am a history major and I plan on teaching in the peace corps, teaching outdoor education, and ultimately end up teaching high school history.
