Andrew's Voice

How have increased tuition fees impacted you and your family?:
With the constant increase in tuition, I was forced to work 20+ hours while attending SFSU full time in order to afford rent and food. My parents' salary was cut substantially, they may no longer be able to aid me financially. My Graduation date is delayed a year due to the lack of available classes, labs are packed full of desperate students; limiting work space and materials. If it wasn't for my EPR I'm sure I would have been delayed 2+ years. Originally I came to a 4 year institute hoping to double major and minor to broaden my options after graduating; unfortunately, SFSU isn't allowing students to take up minors or second majors if it exceeds the bare minimum of 120 units. All this is because of the CA Public Education budget cuts.

What are you studying at SF State and what do you hope to do once you graduate?:
I'm a third year Biology-Physiology major. I hope to finish all the Pre-Med requirements as an undergraduate and avoid any post-back delay. However, with the increase in tuition students are being forced to graduate ASAP without any extra electives.
