Holiday
Luncheon
The Holiday Luncheon is a tradition for the UWA, held each December
at an elegant location, most recently the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.
The Luncheon is an opportunity to celebrate the holiday season with
colleagues and family in a festive setting, and is always a truly
memorable occasion.
Cruising
for Scholarships
The most popular and successful fundraisers over the years have
been the UWA scholarship cruises. Since 1992, the UWA has sponsored
cruises to exotic and historic ports around the world and raised
thousands of dollars for scholarships. Cruises have taken us to
Alaska, Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean, Greece, Mexico,
the Panama Canal, Scandinavia and Russia, and Tahiti. We have circled the Mediterranean and Western Europe, from Istanbul to Athens, Athens to Barcelona, and in 2012, Barcelona to Copenhagen. Everyone is welcome to cruise with us: the more people we have, the more dollars we earn for scholars!
Honors Convocation
The UWA serves the university and its students by providing volunteer
ushers for the Undergraduate Honors Convocation each year, and hostesses
for the reception following the ceremony. This event recognizes
SFSU honor students and provides an opportunity for family and friends
to celebrate these students' outstanding achievements. In recognition
of our role as official host of the Convocation, the UWA President
sits on stage each year with the SFSU President, deans, and other
dignitaries.

A variety of
events are offered each year, in an effort to provide something
to enlighten and entertain all tastes and fit every budget. We sponsor
guided walks of the city, on- and off-campus theatre parties, luncheons
and dinners. And, we are always open to suggestions for new ideas.
