NERT TRAINING EVENT

Who:        Everyone!!!

WHAT:     Disaster Preparedness Training

WHEN:    Two-Day Intensive!  8:30 am to 5:30 pm
                 Tuesdays, October 9, and October 16, 2012

WHERE:   San Francisco State University Campus
                  October 9 Seven Hills Conference Center, 800 Font Blvd
                  October 16 class meets in Towers Conference Center, next to 800 Font.

HOW:       RSVP to http://www.sf-fire.org/ and click  NERT to register online. Also get more information on other training locations for make-up classes and for re-certification.  SFSU faculty, staff, students must also register at the website above. There is NO on-campus registration.

WHY:       Because it’s everything you need to know to protect yourself, your home and family, and your workplace.

** Please note:  Participants must attend all sessions in order to gain the full scope and benefit of the training.  A certificate and ID Badge will be issued to those that successfully complete the course. 

NERT TRAINING COURSE OUTLINE

Class Sessions Day # 1…

1.  Earthquake Awareness, Preparedness and Hazard Mitigation
2.  Basic Disaster Skills; Fire Extinguishers; Hazardous Materials; Utilities Shut-offs
3.  Disaster Medicine

Class Sessions Day #2…

4.  Light Search and Rescue
5.  Team Organization and Management, ICS, and Terrorism & NERT
6.  Hands-on Training Skills Development and Application

*Note:  Participants that miss any classes may be eligible to attend make-up sessions at other locations. Visit the NERT website for further information, or call the NERT office at (415) 970-2024.
