With a student population of approximately 27,000 and more than 1,650 full and part-time faculty members, San Francisco State University is one of the largest, as well as one of the most respected and community-oriented, academic institutions in Northern California.
The University occupies a 100-acre site in the southwestern corner of San Francisco, near Lake Merced, just one mile from the Pacific Ocean. It is a short commute to the campus by freeway or public transportation from downtown San Francisco or the San Francisco International Airport.
