ELM/EPT

California State University English Placement Test and Entry-Level Mathematics Test

The California State University (CSU) English Placement Test (EPT) and Entry-Level Mathematics Test (ELM) are placement tests that measure readiness for college-level course work in English and math, and help faculty decide whether incoming students should enroll in remedial or introductory baccalaureate courses in these fundamental disciplines. Required of most lower division students at the 22 campuses of the California State University system, the two tests are administered primarily to high school seniors who have been admitted to the system and to newly arrived first-year students. For more information, call 925-808-2142.
