Transportation

Transportation Program

SF State has a comprehensive transportation program that includes: commuter check direct, ride match, free BART shuttles, a valet Bike Barn, on campus shuttles, and a rideshare program. The campus is also in walking distance to MUNI and many bus lines. Learn more at the parking & transportation page.

In 2009, SF State adopted a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Plan to guide its efforts to minimize transportation impacts associated with the university’s growth and to reduce associated greenhouse gas emissions. It outlines a program that will minimize daily AM and PM peak-period vehicle trips to the campus by promoting access to alternative modes of transportation. The plan also sets out a mechanism to monitor its effectiveness and to address evolving transportation needs. Click here to read the TDM Plan.

Commuter Check Direct

With Commuter Check Direct faculty, staff, and administrators can save up to 30% on transportation expenses by deferring up to $230 of pretax dollars every month.

Bike Parking

New Bike Parking arrives on campus

SF State's Bike Working Group secured funding from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and over 100 new bicycle racks were installed in Fall 2008.
