Coordinator of Study Abroad & International Exchange Programs 1994-Present

  • Responsible for all study abroad affairs (publicity, promotion, counseling, application, selection, data keeping, etc.) - particularly for California State University International Programs and campus bilateral exchange programs.
  • Responsible Officer for the campus J-1 visiting scholar and student program. Responsible Officer for all Bilateral exchange agreements and relationships and consortia relationships with overseas institutions.
  • Supervise Student Fulbright Scholarship and the National Security Education Program.

Center for Middle Eastern Studies, International and Area Studies, University of California, Berkeley
Program Representative/Administrative Officer, 1992-1994

  • Responsible for all Center programming, including lecture series and Middle East Cinematheque, and publicity and promotion of Center activities.
  • Responsible for all J-1 scholars affiliated with Center, and foreign visitors.
  • Monitor budget, supervise staff. Edited Center biannual newsletter.

CSU System-Wide Campus Relations Officer: 1987-1991

  • Directed all publicity, promotion, and recruitment activities for the California State University International programs.
  • Served as liaison to faculty, staff, and administration between corporate headquarters office and the 20 CSU campuses for international education.
  • Designed & directed reentry, alumni assistant training workshops & annual CSU conference.

  • Advised and counseled international students and J-1 scholars (academic, immigration, personal).
  • Designed, implemented, promoted, and maintained programs encouraging international students and scholars to interact with U.S. and campus community.
