Segment III
Segment III: Relationships of Knowledge
Information for Students
You are probably already planning to do this, but Segment III is another great reason to keep a journal or blog during your time abroad. When you return, you will be writing a paper about your experiences, both in and out of the classroom. Having a record of your thoughts through the whole year (or semester) will be very helpful when you are preparing material for the paper.
Keep records
You should also save everything that your instructors give you. Please save syllabi, written assignments, handouts, and exams, whenever possible. When you return, this will not only help you write your paper, but it will help us determine whehter a course is upper-division or whether it was a humanities or social science class.
Again, if your courses change from the ones that are on your signed forms, please contact the advisor who signed your forms to ask whether your new courses can still count for Segment III credit. Please print out and keep the reply for your records.
