Program Options

CSU International Programs and SFSU Bilateral Programs


The two official study abroad programs offered to the San Francisco State University student span the range of all academic programs offered on our campus. Both the CSU International Programs and SF State Bilateral Programs are nearly identical in quality and structure and require that you are a SF State student, or have been accepted to study at SF State.

CSU International Programs

Deadlines: February 1 st for Fall start programs, May 1 st for Spring start programs
  • Academic Year in Length
  • Pay regular tuition, no application fees!
  • Open to Juniors to Graduates (Learn Language Programs open to Sophomores)
  • All academic credit applies as RESIDENT CREDIT!
  • All financial aid applies (work-study is converted to a loan)


SF State Bilateral Programs

Deadlines: March 1 st for Fall start programs, October 1 st for Spring start programs
  • Academic Year or Semester in Length, depending on program.
  • Pay regular tuition, no application fees!
  • Open to Juniors to Graduates
  • All academic credit applies as RESIDENT CREDIT!
  • All financial aid applies (work-study is converted to a loan)


The Short Term Programs are through the College of Extended Learning at SF State:

  • Intended to supplement studies on campus
  • Intended as a supplement to the regular study abroad programs
