We offer summer employment at the field campus every year. These positions are on location and include lodging and meals. Staff stays on campus from the beginning of June through the middle of August, depending on the schedule. Please email J.R. Blair at if you are interested.

These positions are ideal for individuals who enjoy the outdoors. The field camp is located near over 20 lakes, the Pacific Crest Trail, numerous fishing spots, world class hiking and mountain biking trails (up the road from Downieville), and next to the Yuba River. When not working, the opportunities to enjoy the splendor of the Sierra Nevada are many.

Field Campus Chef

Chef is responsible for

  • Planning and preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner for students
  • Ordering food
  • Overseeing kitchen in general

Includes room with bathroom/shower.


Kitchen Staff

Kitchen staff is responsible for

  • Assiting in preparation of meals for students in the morning and the evening
  • Assisting in camp maintenance including cleaning bathrooms, dining hall and classroom
