Confidential Communicator - Frequently Asked Questions

What is Confidential Communicator?

Confidential Communicator is a secure and confidential system which allows you to access your San Francisco State Student Health Services medical information. You will be able to access information such as your lab results, messages from your provider, itemized charges for services, medications or labs, and important health information messages from the Student Health Services.

 

How do I know I have a message in Confidential Communicator?

The SHS will send an email to your designated SFSU email address. This will usually be a sfsu.edu email account. This email will let you know that the SHS has posted a confidential a message in Confidential Communicator. The email will include a link to Confidential Communicator.

 

What if I am not receiving email notifications from Confidential Communicator?

Please ensure that you have an email account registered with the Registrar's Office.If you forward/redirect your sfsu.edu email to a non-SFSU account (eg Yahoo, Gmail, etc.), it is important that you add shsemr@sfsu.edu to your List of Contacts/Address Book.

 

I have added shsemr@sfsu.edu to my contacts and I am still not receiving an email notification from Confidential Communicator?

If you are still experiencing problems please check your Spam folder. Some students have reported that they were not able to access their sfsu.edu emails via their Yahoo accounts and had to change their webmail service in order to resolve the problem.

 

I am not receiving any notification emails from the SHS about my Confidential Communicator Messages?

If you are not receiving e-mail notifications:

Please ensure that you have an email account registered with the Registrar's Office. This account will usually be an xxxx@sfsu.edu account. If you forward or redirect email from your registered account to a webmail service e.g. gmail, hotmail, yahoo mail please perform the following:

  1. Check that the forwarding / redirection is working.
  2. Add shsemr@sfsu.edu to your webmail account's List of Contacts/Addresses
  3. Check that the notifications are not being filtered into your your webmail account's Spam folder.<If you are still not receiving your e-mail notifications please note that some students have solved the problem by switching to another webmail service.
