Women's Services
The SHS Women's Services program is available to all eligible SFSU women students. Our physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and support staff are trained in the provision of gynecological care including routine gynecological examinations and concerns, detection and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, and information and education on sexuality, birth control and menopause.
Appointments
You can schedule an appointment in person or call (415) 338-1251. If you cannot make your appointment, please call (415) 338-1251 to cancel prior to your appointment, otherwise you will be charged $20 no show fee. Please schedule your annual gynecological exam when you are not menstruating. Forty-eight (48) hours before your exam, please do not douche, have sexual intercourse or use any vaginal medications, creams, jellies, foams, suppositories, films, or tampons. An emergency birth control refill can be prescribed if you will run out of your birth control method before you can be scheduled for an appointment.

Sexuality, birth control and pregnancy consultation - we welcome women and their partners to Women's Services to discuss any topics related to sexual or reproductive health.

Urine pregnancy test ($)
Blood pregnancy test (there is a charge)
Emergency contraception (Morning After Pill) - can be given up to 120 hours after unprotected sexual intercourse.
