Invade Campus
"Robotics
isn't so much a discipline itself as it is the nexus point of other
science disciplines," says David Calkins, an SFSU engineering
lecturer and president of the San Francisco Robotics Society of
America. "To be a robotics engineer, you have to be a mechanical
engineer, software engineer, computer engineer, mechanic and artist.
It's by far the hardest job anyone could have." Calkins helped
bring more than 450 robotics enthusiasts to campus in March for
RoboGames, the largest robotics competition and exhibition in the
country.
