Years Professor of English Michael Krasny has hosted “Forum,” KQED’s award-winning news and public affairs program.


Gallons of water saved per year by using a grass substitute on the University’s new recreation field for students.


Second-place prize money earned by the Gospel Gators, the first university choir to compete in “How Sweet the Sound,” a regional competition for the best gospel choir in America.

Nights per year that SF State students have easy access to a professional telescope, thanks to a donation from alumnus John Luongo. The gift enabled the University to partner with UC Berkeley to refurbish a telescope at Leuschner Observatory in Lafayette, which is now controlled remotely from Thornton Hall.



Consecutive years since 1999 that SF State alumni have earned Oscar nods.
