Statement of Candidacy:
Ray Trautman
Professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry

"If elected Secretary, I will carry out the secretary's responsibilities as articulated in the Constitution of the Faculty of the University and the Bylaws of the Academic Senate of San Francisco State University to the best of my ability: exercising general supervision over the taking and keeping of minutes of meetings of the Faculty and of the Academic Senate, being a member of the Executive Committee, and being Chair of the Committee on Committees.

In addition, I will work closely with the Academic Senate's office staff to prepare and distribute meeting notices, minutes and resolutions; maintain Senate records; and enhance electronic access to those records. To this end, I have relevant experience developing and maintaining websites.

The Secretary's role on the Executive Committee is to be a representative of the entire University. My experience as chair of APC 2007-2008 has helped me gain a university-wide perspective, and I will continue to represent the interests of the University as a whole rather than the special interests of any Department or College."
