RESOLUTION ON THE DIFFERENCE IN PAY LEAVE PROGRAM

At its meeting of May 14, 1991, the Academic Senate approved unanimously the following resolution on the Difference in Pay Leave Program.

WHEREAS

The campus faces severe budget cutbacks in instructional programs; and

WHEREAS

The employment of lecturers at the University is threatened; and

WHEREAS

The Difference in Pay Leave Program provides opportunities for the hiring of lecturers; therefore be it

RESOLVED

That, in consultation with the CFA, the Difference in Pay Leave Program for 1991-92 be reopened until August 1, 1991, to allow faculty who are eligible but who did not apply for such leaves to do so; and be it further

RESOLVED

That, in consultation with the CFA, the possibility of partial difference-in-pay leaves be explored immediately, and if permitted, be implemented
