WHEREAS

The Academic Senate wishes to encourage student participation on Academic Senate committees; and

WHEREAS

The Student Affairs Committee was charged with developing a plan to support such participation; and

WHEREAS

The SFSU CIC program supports internships and fieldwork placements for students; therefore be it

RESOLVED

That the establishment of the Academic Senate as a CIC fieldwork site be approved; and be it further

RESOLVED

That the proposal developed in conjunction with the CIC to provide the opportunity to receive two units of academic credit for students who participate on Senate committees be approved on a one-year trial basis; and be it further

RESOLVED

That the Student Affairs Committee re-evaluate the program at the end of the one-year trial period.
