University Development Priorities Committee
Statement of Responsibilities
Academic Senate Policy S93-184
At its meeting of April 13, 1993, the Academic Senate approved the following proposal to develop a committee on University development priorities:

A. |
Charge |

|
1. |
The University Development Priorities Committee, an all-university committee shall: |
||
|
a. |
review all proposals for external developmental fund raising submitted to the Office of University Development; |
||
|
b. |
establish developmental fund raising priorities from among the proposals reviewed; |
||
|
c. |
recommend developmental fund raising priorities to the President. |
||
|
2. |
The University Development Priorities Committee regular advisory statements and annual report shall be addressed to the President and the Academic Senate. |
||
|
3. |
Clerical support for the Committee’s activities shall be furnished by and minutes made available in the Office of University Development. |
||
|
B. |
Membership |
||
|
1. |
The University Development Priorities Committee shall include nine (9) members composed as follows: |
||
|
a. |
The Vice President for Academic Affairs or designee; |
||
|
b. |
Four faculty elected for three-year staggered terms through the process described below; |
||
|
c. |
Two Deans, appointed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, serving on a rotating basis ; |
||
|
d. |
The Director of University Development [ex officio, non-voting]; |
||
|
e. |
A representative of the Professional Development Council [liaison, non-voting]. |
||
|
2. |
Constituencies shall elect/select their members so that terms of office may commence at the beginning of the academic year. |
||
|
3. |
The faculty of each School/Library, not represented by continuing members, shall elect one nominee each. An all-university election will be held to elect sufficient faculty to fill the vacant positions from the slate of nominees. The first all-university election will produce staggered terms; the two nominees with the highest vote total will be elected for three year terms, the nominee with the third highest vote total will be elected for a two year term, and the nominee with the fourth highest vote total will be elected for a one year term. |
