AND TRAINING

ACADEMIC SENATE POLICY S78-31

At its meeting of May 9, 1978, the Academic Senate approved the following policy:

Students who have completed one year of uninterrupted, active, military service may receive six units of elective credit. To receive credit, the student must present written certification from a recognized military authority, such as papers from a military separation center or a statement signed by a senior officer.

Students who have completed United States Armed Forces Institute (USAFI) baccalaureate level courses may receive extension credit provided that the total amount of extension credit, from this and other sources, does not exceed 24 semester units.

Students who have completed military courses and schools recommended for credit by the Commission on the Accreditation of Service Experiences (CASE) may receive the number of units recommended by the Commission, except that credit shall not be allowed for those courses which are indicated as technical and vocational in nature.
