Choosing a technology

Potential solutions

Academic Technology staff members have begun to analyze potential solutions against the requirements defined by the Student Affairs Committee, in consultation with Academic Technology, and vetted with other faculty, staff, student, and administrator stakeholders. The potential solutions fall into three categories:

• Buy: Pay third-party, commercial vendors for solutions (hosted or non-hosted)
• Use: Use free, third-party solutions (hosted or non-hosted)
• Build: Modify and host existing open source solutions, or build and host new solutions from scratch
