CYRILLIC FONTS

Because your computer comes without support for cyrillic fonts you have to take the extra step of installing them on your computer in order to display cyrillic encoded documents, such as web pages, or to be able to type in word processing or e-mail programs. One notable exception is the version 4.x series Netscape Navigator browser which comes with built-in support for displaying cyrillic fonts. Beyond this, both the Mac OS and Windows platforms require some form of cyrillic font installation. One problem we have experienced are the competing standards for encoding documents with cyrillic fonts. The sites listed below offer comprehensive information on these standards, along with links for downloading font packages, as well as, related issues for Macintosh and Windows platforms.
