The Office of Risk Mangement, in Human Resources under the Vice President of Administration and Finance, is responsible for training and developing campus risk management policies and practices to reduce or eliminate losses for programs in the California State University Risk Management Authority (CSURMA) risk pool which include:

The Director of Risk Management serves as the campus delegate to the CSURMA Board of Directors.

The Office of Risk Management is also responsible for special insurance programs administered by CSURMA's third party administrator, Driver Insurance Services, Inc. and the CSU Chancellor's office which include:

Insurance requirements in contracts are handled by the Office of Procurement and Contracts.

Policies and procedures are developed to anticipate and assess losses, and to manage losses through appropriate risk management techniques.

The Office of Risk Management works very closely on these risk management matters with administrators from campus departments such as the Office of University Counsel, Human Resources, Department of Public Safety (University Police), Environmental Health and Occupational Safety (EHOS), Office of Procurement and Contracts, and others.
