BACK INJURY PREVENTION (Lifting)
Prevention is the best protection against back injury. This lecture course introduces the anatomy of the back, biomechanics, and proper lifting technique.

DEFENSIVE DRIVER TRAINING (DDT)
Class Location: PP&D Training Rm., Corp Yard

Employees who use a University vehicle or private vehicle on University business are required to have a current DDT certificate. DDT will be conducted by Department of General Services. Certificates are valid for four years. Prerequisite: Valid California or other state Drivers License

HAZARD COMMUNICATION
Employees who handle/use hazardous materials are required to attend this training. Session provides an overview of the Hazard Communication Standard (8CCR 5194), including the requirements for departments to maintain an inventory of hazardous materials and MSDSs, labeling and training requirements and the need of a written program. Job specific hazards are not addressed. Review of job specific chemical hazards is to be provided by supervisors.

HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT & EMERGENCY RESPONSE OVERVIEW (HWMER)
This course provides a brief overview of SFSU Hazardous Waste Guidelines. Topics include identification and labeling of hazardous waste, handling and storage guidelines, spill response and waste disposal. Employees who handle/use hazardous materials and/or generate hazardous waste are required to attend. Detailed courses are available for hazardous waste labeling and determination. Prerequisite: HAZCOM

REGULATORY OVERVIEW OF HAZARDOUS WASTE DETERMINATION

Annual training is required of all campus users of radioactive materials. Please contact Ken Letsch, Radiation Safety Officer, at (415) 338-6164 for available training dates or to schedule lab group training sessions.
