BACHELOR OF ARTS IN RECREATION
Students desiring to major in recreation are encouraged to consult with the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies as soon as possible. Transfer students should consult with the department upon initial enrollment at the University.

Students majoring in this program are expected are expected to actively participate in appropriate professional organizations. The Bachelor of Arts prepares students for full-time multi-optional public and private sector careers in leisure services, one of America's largest industries. RLS majors must complete 800 hours of work experience to be eligible for their senior internship.

REC 690 Directed Management Experience in Recreation & Leisure Services 6
Additional course work is required for students seeking internships in settings which require special skills, i.e., outdoor, therapeutic, commercial, etc. Such course work is prescribed in consultation with an advisor.
