Our department is located within one of the most renowned urban centers in the world and surrounded by scenic coastlines, redwood forests and diverse cultural resources. These offer a fantastic "living laboratory" for students interested in this field, a myriad of job opportunities, as well as a wonderful place to live.

Since 1946 our flexible Graduate Program has been helping students move up in their careers, securing professional positions in our field, assisting our diverse communities and advancing the state of knowledge in our profession.

Submit an application for admittance by Nov. 1, 2008 deadline. Click here for information and the on-line application.

GRAD. RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIPS
Learn about 2 part time research assistantships with the Pacific Leadership Institute and Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Applications in fall 2008, start spring 2009.

NEW CULMINATING EXPERIENCE OPTION
RPT students will have a new culminating experience option, REC 895 Applied Profession Project, starting spring 2009. Talk with your advisor to learn more.

NEW DEPARTMENT NAME
Effective July 1, 2008 our department will have a new name: Recreation, Parks and Tourism. We think this better describes our programs.

SUBMIT YOUR GAP! Last day for graduate students to submit approved GAP and Culminating Experience Form -Spring 09 graduation:
Nov. 3, 2008

THESIS ELIGIBILITY
The department has a new policy on thesis eligibility criteria. See this new policy if you are considering your culminating experience options.

COMPLETE YOUR GET
Your graduate English requirements, either the GET or a remedial English course, must be complete before you can enroll in REC 880 or apply for graduation.
