Commercial Recreation, Resort and Tourism Management (CRRTM) This emphasis area has a set of specialized
classes and field work sites that provide excellent learning opportunities.
Students completing a specialization in CRTM are qualified for careers in a wide
variety of professional settings ranging from privately owned attractions, resorts,
event planning companies and
local recreation organizations to concessions specialists with public land management
agencies. These professionals utilize skills and CRTM students receive training in
topics, such as the travel and tourism system, risk management, tourism motivations and
behavior, special events management, impacts of tourism, eco-tourism, incentive travel,
tour company operations, conference and meeting management, human resources development,
supervision of staff and destination marketing. Graduating students often find jobs
in the following types of businesses.
