Requirements for applicant

FAQ's

How do I get accepted to Project Rebound?

Project Rebound requirements are simple. First the applicant must be an ex-offender. The applicant needs to have completed either the GED or have a high school diploma. He or she also must be dedicated to turning his or her life around. Admission to the Project Rebound program does not mean admission to the University. Project Rebound will help you meet the special Project Rebound requirements for admission to San Francisco State University. Contact Project Rebound to receive a preliminary questionaire.

What are the SFSU requirements for Project Rebound applicants?

First fill out a California State Application and a Free Application For Financial Aid (FAFSA). You need either a high school diploma or a GED certificate. You also need to take the SAT or ACT. If you have more than 60 units of college credit you do not need to take the SAT or ACT. Also, before enrolling in classes you need to take the Math and English placement tests (ELM and EPT). Once admitted to Project Rebound, the office will mail you the applications that you need.

What if I have not taken the GED or do not have a high school diploma?

Contact Project Rebound anyway. We will put you in touch with Second Chance at City College. Second Chance is similar to Project Rebound, but at the community college level. They will help you transefer from the community college. There also might be ways to meet these requirements before the date you wish to attend SFSU.
