Spring 2008 Groups

Group for Men of Color : Dialogue and Inquiry

This is a workshop to come together and foster face-to-face conversation, learning, and dialogue

This workshop will be facilitated by two male therapists from diverse populations (African American and Iranian). The aim of this group is to create a possibility for dialogue and inquiry among men of color about the nature and meaning of diversity as seen from their different perspectives. By coming together we might generate new insights to questions such as:

What are the required safety elements for group dialogue?   What are the core enabling qualities of healthy dialogue? How does it feel to be a member of diverse population? What do men of color bring to the dominant culture? What is the concept of real cultural healing? What are the stereotypes and assumptions about men of color?
