Markowski-Leach Scholarship for Gay & Lesbians

Brief description: To provide scholarship awards to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer persons attending San Francisco State University, Stanford University or University of California at Berkeley as undergraduate or graduate students.

Robert Westwood Scholarship

The intent of this scholarship is to assist SFSU students who are living with HIV and have made contributions or plan to use their studies to contribute to communities affected by HIV. Contributions can be in any field, including: the arts, health sciences, social services, etc. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded at the beginning of the Fall 2012 semester. The recipient must be enrolled Fall 2012 to receive payment.

Steven Dub Scholarship

The Steven Dub Memorial Scholarship was created to support SF State students who have survived intimate partner violence or over come alcohol/ substance abuse and/ or actively volunteer or work to address sexual violence and/ or substance abuse issues in their communities. $500- $1000 scholarship(s) will be distributed in Spring 2012 semester.

Steven Dub was a student volunteer with Prevention Education Programs’ The SAFE Place and CEASE. Steven shared his personal stories and life experiences to give voice to what many students have experienced and in doing so, made a positive and lasting impact on the SF State campus community. He was killed in an automobile accident in 2009 and his family and friends have created a scholarship to honor his life.
