What's Happening Information Session
8:30am - 10:00am | Malcolm X Plaza
10-15 minute mini orientations to assist students and family members with navigating through the day's activities.
Academic Open Houses
9:00am - 10:00am | Various locations
University colleges, academic departments and support programs will host a variety of programs to assist students in learning about the many options and resources available to achieve academic success. Guests may stop by as many of the programs as they like to get a sample of the variety of academic possibilities here at SF State.
Student Life/Co-curricular Open Houses
9:00am - 11:00am | Various locations
Open house sessions including tours, general information sessions, and resource guides to assist incoming students in learning about the various programs and resources available to them on campus.
SF State Welcome (A-M by Student's Last Name And Their Guests)
10:00am - 11:00am | Main Gymnasium
The official University Welcome with University administration, including faculty, alumni and the student government president addressing the Class of 2013, transfer and international students and their families.
Taste of SF State (A-M by Student's Last Name And Their Guests)
11:15am - 12:15 pm | Main Quad
A food fair and student activities showcase, providing students and their family members a festival atmosphere during their lunch hour. They will have the opportunity to sample the many food options located here at SF State and the surrounding community, while also listening to music and meeting student organization leaders in the quad.

Various workshops will be offered for parents and incoming students to choose from to provide detailed information regarding University and community resources.
Welcome to the Real World (Students)
3:45pm - 4:45pm | McKenna Theater, Creative Arts Building
Our campus is a vibrant and exciting environment, and with it comes individual responsibility in being a good citizen and healthy contributor. Student actors convey some possible real case scenarios to incoming students while administrators and staff from Counseling and Psychological Services, Student Health Services, Creating Empowerment through Alcohol and Substance Abuse Education (CEASE), Sexual Abuse Free Environment (SAFE Place), University Police Department, and Judicial Affairs discuss expectations and resources regarding safety and wellness (both academic and student life) within the SF State community.

SF State is a culturally diverse and multifaceted community. SF State provides students the opportunity to learn, network, and understand better the many backgrounds that our students represent. This personalized program allows students and parents the ability to learn first hand from the experiences, perspectives and personal stories of current SF State students.

Community Connection

Community Connections is an interactive and entertaining program to assist students in their transition at SF State. They will meet fellow classmates and walk away knowing new people and starting new friendships.
Hypnotist Dave Hill
8:00pm - 10:00pm | McKenna Theatre, Creative Arts Building
"The World's Greatest Hypnotist"- Experience the Unbelievable, Hilarious, Classical, Astounding, and Mesmerizing. Dave Hill's hypnotic stage show is a fun filled, adult event.
