LEADERSHIP IN ACTION CALL FOR PROGRAMS - FALL 2008

We seeking submissions from faculty, staff and seasoned student leaders to create and facilitate workshops for the fall 2008 Leadership in Action program, a campus-wide initiative focused on providing leadership development opportunities for students. These workshops are for the Leadership Symposium that will be held on September 6, 2008, and the weekly workshop series that will follow for the remainder of the semester. All topics and ideas related to student leadership are both welcomed and encouraged. It's that time again to reserve space at the Cesar Chavez Student Center for the 2008 - 2009 academic year! Mark your calendars and start planning for your events for next year. STUDENT ORGANIZATION REGISTRATION FOR 2008-2009

OSPLD will start accepting registration forms for the 2008-2009 academic year in August, 2008. More information will be provided during the summer months via the newsletter regarding the registration process.

SIGN UP FOR WELCOME DAYS STUDENT ACTIVITIES EVENTS

The Welcome Days Committee is busy planning for August 21 and 22 of this year to welcome the Class of 2012, transfer students and international students. Last year we had over 4,000 participants and expect this number to increase this year. We would like to showcase student organizations and assist you gaining new members through the following programs:

Welcome Days Student Activities Fair: As part of the Welcome Days' Taste of SF State on Thursday, August 21, from 12 noon - 1:30 PM, we will be hosting a Student Activities Fair. This will be student organizations' opportunity to connect with the new incoming students prior to classes beginning. No food sales will be permitted, however student organizations will be able to host a table and provide information to perspective new members regarding their organizations before classes begin. Please note that space is limited. If you are interested in participating, please send Joey Greenwell the following information via email to joey@sfsu.edu.

This is your organization's opportunity to showcase your performance talents to the incoming students and their families. The show will occur on Thursday, August 21, from 8 PM - 10 PM in McKenna Hall. FREE TUTORING FROM THE COMMUNITY ACCESS AND RETENTION PROGRAM

Check out free tutoring for all SFSU students from the Community Access and Retention Program (CARP). We provide tutoring for a wide range of SFSU courses, including math, science, business and writing across all disciplines. We are located in HSS 344 and are open Mon - Thurs. from 4:00 - 8:00pm and Fri. from 11:00am - 2:00 pm. Our services include one-on-one tutoring sessions, test preparation workshops for the ELM and JEPET and academic skills workshops* that address the academic needs of all college students.
