Call for Programs Fall 2008

The fall 2008 Leadership in Action program will begin with a campus-wide Leadership Symposium held on Saturday, September 6, and then continue throughout the semester with a weekly workshop series. This Call for Programs is for both the Leadership Symposium and the workshop series.

Program presentations are critical to the success of the Leadership in Action program. Faculty, staff and seasoned student leaders are encouraged to submit program proposals representing interests and concerns of student leaders on the SF State campus. All topics and ideas are welcome and encouraged. As some examples, here is a list of possible topics for workshops (in no particular order): communication, time management, stress management/preventing burnout, delegating responsibilities, developing a healthy balance in life, ethical decision making, recruitment & retention of volunteers/members, working with budgets, various issues related to social justice and diversity, student activism and leadership styles.

All program proposals submitted prior to Monday, June 30, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. will be given first priority. Proposals will be accepted after this deadline on an as needed basis. To submit a proposal, please use this online form below and type the information requested. This form may be duplicated in order to submit additional proposals or to share with others by hitting the back key. All sessions will be 50 minutes in length. Notifications of acceptance will be sent via email in mid-July.

Workshop Proposal

The abstract is a 50 words or less description of the workshop.

This is a complete description of key points, program content, use of handouts, significance to event participants and any other information relevant to the workshop. This outline will be used to assess your proposal, and if chosen, the description will be posted on the Leadership in Action website.
