If you have been accepted into an exchange program at SFSU though your university, you will need to attend the SF State interantional exchange student orientation. The orientation is a 5-day program mandated by the US government according to the J-1 visa requirements that will take place the week before classes begin.
NOTE: J-1 exchange students are REQUIRED to attend each day of the orientation.
You must attend the orientation. For Fall 2013, Orientation will take place from August 19 to August 23.
In addition to the panels and presentations conducted by the Office of International Programs, the orientation is also an opportunity for international students to meet American students at SF Stateand explore San Francisco through the IEEC buddy program and IEEC social events. A detailed orientation schedule will be emailed to you one month before the orientation.
If you have any questions after you have read the packet, please direct them to j1oip@sfsu.edu.
