For the past 12 years, San Francisco State University has celebrated International Education Week (IEW), an international event that emphasizes the importance of increasing knowledge and awareness of the world's cultures, peoples, and languages. This year's celebration looks to be equally exciting as past years¡¯ commemorations.
International Education Week 2012 will be a wonderful opportunity for the university community to learn about the myriad cultures that exist on our campus and in the world.
In celebration of IEW 2012,
• OIP (Office of International Programs)
• LEAD (Leadership, Engagement, Action, Development)
• IEEC (International Education & Exchange Council) and
• I-House
would like to invite all SF State cultural student organizations to participate in our annual Cultural Food Fair and CultureFest.
› You may participate in the Cultural Food Fair for one, two, or for all three days!
Each organization is invited to participate in SF State¡¯s annual Cultural Food Fair by putting together a display table full of cultural and historical information about the cultural group that you represent and information about your specific organization. You are also welcome to sell food and beverages to help raise money for your student club.
› CultureFest is a great opportunity to share your culture and introduce your club to the SF State¡¯s community!
In addition to a display table for the Cultural Food Fair, we would like to invite all student clubs to contribute a short (10-15 minutes) performance (dancing, singing, instrument playing, poetry recitation, artwork display, or anything else you can come up with) for the CultureFest on Tuesday, November 13 between 12:00PM and 2:00PM.
Discuss your participation in SF State¡¯s annual Cultural Food Fair and CultureFest at your next meeting and start brainstorming!
No contribution is too big or too small.
Let¡¯s bring together as many campus groups as possible to share cultures and organization goals in a safe, non-political environment!
If your group, club, or organization would like to participate, please complete our CultureFest Performance Proposal Form. If you would like to reserve a table to sell food or to display cultural information about your club, please visit the LEAD Web site.
YOUR OWN EVENT or ACTIVITY:
You are also welcome to organize your own event apart from CultureFest:
1. Complete our online IEW 2012 Event Proposal Form.
