Creative & Scholarly Excellence -- Students
Presidential Scholars at SF State have academic and personal accomplishments that set them apart from their peers. Incoming freshmen are competitively selected for this scholarship and enrichment program. They are supported with tuition fees, aid for textbooks and supplies, and priority course registration.
Among recent awards earned by SF State students:
Student Academy Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences: Phoebe Tooke, graduate student, for "Circles of Confusion," 2008.
Panetta Congressional Internship Program: Aerris Hoskins, political science major, interned with Democratic Rep. Pete Stark, 2012.
National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship: Genevieve Walden, biology graduate student, 2009.
