April 2002 STAR of the Month

Diana Higgins, locker room and equipment supervisor for the Kinesiology Department, is the STAR of the Month for April.

"In her job, Diana deals daily with hundreds of students, faculty and staff," said Susan Higgins (no relation), chair of Kinesiology. "She must maintain a user-friendly atmosphere, while at the same time quell concerns about facility use policies, provide a safe and clean environment, and implement policies that are, at times, difficult for users to contend with, such as fines."

Higgins has worked on campus since 1966. She directly supervises the Women's Locker Room and supervises the staff who maintain the Men's Locker Room.

"Diana has been able to improve the quality and consistency of services provided by locker room personnel," added Susan Higgins. "She is a team player who always does her part to ensure that Department events run smoothly, and she goes out of her way to help mentor new staff members. Diana is a calming influence - loyal and level-headed."

Please join us in congratulating Diana and thank her for making such a difference.

As the STAR of the Month, Higgins will enjoy four free lunches on campus, a free parking pass or equivalent in one month's public transportation costs, and more. She will also be eligible for the STAR of the Year award.
