SAN FRANCISCO--Carla Lacap Madrigal of Daly City was named hood recipient of the College of Education at San Francisco State University for the Class of 2000. She is pictured next to SFSU President Robert A. Corrigan immediately following the commencement ceremony on May 27. Every year one of the top students of each college at SF State is chosen to receive a special hood on stage to represent the graduating students from that college. Helping and teaching others have been a catalyst for Madrigal in pu rsuing a degree in communicative disorders. Her experience working with stroke patients as a volunteer at Laguna Honda Hospital complimented her studies at SF State, where she ultimately earned a 3.58 GPA. Her ambition is to work as a speech pathologist in schools serving disadvantaged children.
